what do you think?

hi ya'll,

well, i was asked a question today that i would like to open up for discussion.  in the gospel book of matthew, Jesus is delivering the beginning of His sermon on the mount which is referred to as the "beatitudes".   it starts in chapter 5.  the question was this:  in verse 8 Jesus says: "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God." what do you think Jesus means when He says this.
what is a pure heart and does He mean we will literally see God with our eyes or does He refer to seeing God in a different way?  i'll share my thoughts on it tomorrow.

life is good and i can't wait to hear how everyones doing.

gotta go.  love you guys and talk to you soon.

What up sir?

Niv here obviously. I personally think the blog is a great idea. I shall visit early and often, political reference. As for the question you ask I'm not sure. I definitely think we should strive to be pure of heart. The seeing God part is the challenge. To be honest I don't really have a good answer. If I find a view that seems legitimate I'll bring it up.

Jeremy I think pure at heart in my personal opion it means what are your true hearts intentions and what are your true thoughts. I think God always looks to the deepest part of our soul and what we truely are.

I think he means that anyone who believes in him, and has a personal relationship with him, in fellowship with him on a daily basis will see him! See him in things that you do, serving others, others serving you too.

If we seek and search for God we will find him (Matthew), as if we knock on His door he will open the door for us and let us in. Consumed in our ‘unclean’ desires will not lead us to knocking on Gods door. But if we truly seek God we will have a ‘clean’ desire to live for the things that He treasures. Yes, we will –then- physically see God in our time by continuing to have a ‘clean’ heart, which is proven by our pen- our mouth. I also believe that we see God in different ways as we are living with a pure heart…..Sometimes God is just not a yes or no answer kinda guy- can’t box Him in, lol.

Proverbs, “don’t ever forget kindness and truth, wear them like a necklace. Write them on your heart as if on a tablet”.

There was a church that allowed a group of 100 homeless men to sleep in their auditorium, shower in their facilities, and eat in their kitchen during the week of a Men's Crusade. Tickets were donated for the homeless men to attend. The volunteer custodian of the church facility came in at 2:30 in the morning on the last day of the crusade. He started baking his famous home made cinnamon rolls at 3:00. By 7am he had the entire church building filled with the aroma of these freshly made delectable’s. When the lead pastor arrived and sat at a table with the custodian, he watched as the homeless men savagely dug into the never ending batch of cinnamon rolls. He looked on as these men entangled dough in their beards, and grinned icing covered smiles. The lead pastor then asked the custodian, "What are you thinking right now." The custodian answered, "I'm thinking Jesus really likes cinnamon rolls."

-True Story-

It seems to me that when we live our lives as Jesus showed us, our hearts become transformed. When that happens, we start seeing Jesus in many different places (Matt.25:40).
